VINAFCO LAUNCHES VIETNAM - CHITTAGONG NVOCC SERVICE, EXPANDING LOGISTICS CONNECTIVITY ACROSS SOUTH ASIA

VINAFCO is taking another step in the development of its international logistics business with the operational launch of its NVOCC service on the Vietnam–Chittagong, Bangladesh route, marking a new milestone in the company’s strategy to expand its cross-border and ocean freight capabilities.

The introduction of the Chittagong service provides customers with an additional shipping option while creating a platform for VINAFCO to strengthen connectivity between Vietnam and South Asia, a region of growing importance to regional manufacturing, trade and supply chains.

Through its NVOCC capabilities, VINAFCO aims to provide customers with greater flexibility in freight rates, routing options, sailing schedules and transportation solutions, while progressively developing a more integrated service model with VINAFCO acting as a single point of coordination throughout the international shipping journey.

Chittagong: A Strategic First Step into South Asia

Chittagong is one of Bangladesh’s principal logistics gateways, handling a significant share of the country’s international cargo flows and providing access to major manufacturing, industrial and consumer markets.

The development of the Vietnam–Chittagong trade lane therefore represents more than the addition of a single shipping route. It is an important step in building VINAFCO’s operating capabilities in South Asia, expanding relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents and local logistics partners, and accumulating the operational experience required for future international service expansion.

As part of the initial rollout, VINAFCO has successfully handled its first shipments comprising nearly 30 containers of plastic resin and calcium carbonate powder. These shipments mark an important transition of the company’s NVOCC business from strategic planning into commercial and operational execution.

With each shipment, VINAFCO continues to strengthen and standardise its processes across booking management, shipping documentation, carrier coordination, overseas agent collaboration and end-to-end shipment monitoring.

Greater Flexibility and Control for Customers

One of the key advantages of the NVOCC model is the ability to exercise greater control over the design and execution of international transportation solutions.

Rather than providing only individual logistics activities, VINAFCO can coordinate multiple elements of the shipment journey to develop solutions tailored to the operational requirements of each customer.

This enables greater flexibility in pricing, sailing schedules, routing, space arrangements and cargo handling solutions, while allowing customers to work with VINAFCO as a single logistics partner throughout the international transportation process.

For businesses engaged in trade between Vietnam and Bangladesh, the Chittagong service provides an additional option for ocean freight capacity and logistics planning at a time when supply chains increasingly require greater flexibility, visibility and responsiveness.

From Bangladesh Toward a Vietnam–India Network

VINAFCO views the Vietnam–Chittagong service as an initial building block in the development of a broader NVOCC network across South Asia.

Looking ahead, the company plans to explore and progressively develop Vietnam–India trade lanes, further connecting Vietnam’s major manufacturing and commercial hubs with key markets across the region.
